Sailing the Florida Keys Indian Key to Rodriguez Key

We had a short sail today in very pleasant conditions. We are taking our time sailing up the Florida Keys waiting for a weather window to cross the gulf stream to the Bahamas. We set the anchor at 1Pm at N25-03.899 W080-27.066 just off of Key Largo with 285 total nautical miles behind us. The sea was calm as we were sailing in the lee of the keys. The water was beautiful. We took a photo of a flying fish that we found in the boat this morning. I guess it landed in the boat the night before when we had very rough seas as we attempted a crossing but turned back very early. We are now planning on leaving our current anchorage tomorrow night and sailing straight to Freeport Bahamas. It will be about 16 hours and 131 nautical miles. We will leave about 8 PM. More later........Captain Don Montgomery
